I Hope I Am Wrong

P.S. Viewers discretion advised. A thought which was penned almost a year back on the result day of Indian election 2019. All the mentioned facts are "actually" facts.

Today (23rd May '19) the National Democratic Alliance won with a majority for the second time (last won in 2014 election). Today it's a day where people of my country voted for something good and I hope I'm wrong and they are right. Many of my citizens voted because there was no face other than the one primal face representing NDA. Many others voted because the media compared this face with a highly incapable face representing UPA.

To those who voted them because of the new taxation scheme and due to demonetization, I would just like to say that the RBI governor and other private organization stated that this was a wrong move. The main motive of channeling the black money and decapitating the terrorist fund and many other motives mentioned was not successful we got an example for the latter part.

To those who voted them because of the events via which our great country showed the world the efficiency of our armed soldiers, I would just like to say that the current government was just lucky enough to have such a great defense team at their disposal which was formed after our Independence which has mostly been independent from our Democratic policies (which is changing sadly). Our country has always been a threat to the neighboring country and they have been the same for us. Taking such a decision which any individual who would have been in power just before the time of election's was quite expected.

To those who voted due to the party and their allies idea of subjugating people who show intolerance and liberal idea as antinationalist, I would just like to say that most of them are not antinationalist most of them stood for this election they might have lost but they did. I do agree that there are antinationalist but labeling few students or media personal who are against your ideas (not the nation's idea but your idea) is clearly showing off the power you have and how scared you are when someone makes a good point.

To those who voted due to religious sentiments, I would just like to say you don't understand democracy. You don't understand when a person is being diplomatic. Democracy and the idea of election was never one political party representing a religion against all others representing the same or different religion. I've heard speeches by a person who might become the Defense Minister  (he became Minister of Home Affairs much worse) which is shocking and quite doable which makes me frightened. I just hope I'm wrong in judging him.

I hope I'm wrong about the numerous farmers who suicide year after year because no one from the center gives a ear to their problem. I hope I'm wrong about the unemployment rates which are sky high this time. I hope I'm wrong about the people who were lynched and media personnel who were murdered just to withhold a story. I hope I'm wrong to analyze and understand the outcomes of demonetization which the RBI released statement.

I hope I'm wrong when I compared the current election PR strategy to showcase country is in danger to 2014 election PR strategy when communal rights happened in Muzzafarnagar where it was showcased Hindu religion is in danger. I hope I'm wrong about the people who are labeled as antinationalist even though they have seen for peaceful protests as compared to various right and left wing parties.

I hope I'm wrong when I believed that why not anyone other than him. I hope I'm wrong to think (or overthink) about the consequences which will happen to our nation's Democracy, our Constitution. I hope I'm wrong to think that our people will be misinformed more and more just like the past 5yrs which will eventually give a power to rewrite the past.
I just…hope I'm wrong.
